4 (Peer Education)

4 (Peer Education) is Girlguiding’s innovative programme that trains members aged 14 to 25 to empower themselves and others to make a difference in the lives of girls throughout the UK

Peer educators are 14-to-25 year olds who help Brownies, Guides and Rangers explore important topics. As young people, they use their own experience to bring the subject to life.

Being girl-led makes all the difference

It works because girls are eager to listen to their peers who share similar life experiences.  Peer educators run fun, safe and challenging sessions which we develop with expert partners. They can deliver sessions on:

We have several fantastic qualified Peer Educators in Glasgow and leaders can arrange to have them visit their unit to run an evening for the girls. Find out what a Peer Ed session looks like here https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/making-guiding-happen/programme-and-activities/peer-education/book-a-peer-educator/ and get in touch via Marcoms to find out about training events to become a Peer Educator or to arrange a unit visit!

Becoming a Peer Educator is about changing the world – one girl at a time

Does it bother you that some girls still think that being “pretty” is the most important quality they could have?   Do you think all girls should have a chance to learn ways to build their own well-being?  Then you should become a peer educator!

All you need to know can be found here at Peer Education website

Is Peer Education for you?  You can find out by completing the Introduction to Peer Education e-learning, it explains the role of a peer educator and is the first step to being trained up.
