Rangers

It’s all about taking the lead and finding new challenges for girls aged 14-18.

Rangers meet up regularly, have fun doing activities together including following our programme of interest badges, skills builders and awards. You’ll take part in amazing challenges, travel the world and develop skills across our six themes and be recognised for these achievements with badges and awards.

Rangers is a brilliant way to try new things, have fun and give something back to your community. Whether you’re already a member, or are just starting out, we’ll give you a host of opportunities to gain leadership skills, build a network of friends in your area and enhance your CV.

Whatever you want to do, Rangers offers a range of unique opportunities.

  • Build your skills – in Rangers you can take on a vast array of awards and qualifications. These range from our Leadership qualification – which teaches you how to run your own unit – to the internationally recognised Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. And don’t forget our Theme awards and the Ranger Gold award.
  • Support girls like you – want to help younger girls to navigate issues like body confidence and mental well-being? Our peer education programme gives you the unique opportunity to talk to girls and young women about the issues they face.
  • Raise your voice –  you could join our delegation at the British Youth Council, or shape Girlguiding’s own policy and research as part of our fantastic Advocate panel. Exploring the Take Action theme will give you more ways to make your voice heard and make a difference
  • Travel the world – from working on a development project in a remote village, to representing UK guiding at an international conference, you’ll be able to take on some life-changing international adventures.

If you are looking for more challenges why not work towards your Lead Away Permit to give you the skills and knowledge to lead friends on a 2-night residential trip.  Or stay closer to home and work on your Young Leader Qualification (YLQ) and get involved in helping to run a Rainbow Brownie or Guide Unit?

There are lots of great challenges out there so what are you waiting for? Find out more about Rangers here
