Where we are

The county is split into 8 segments called Divisions.

Each division covers an area of Glasgow and the volunteers in that division are supported by a Division Commissioner. Some Divisions are subdivided into districts but not all.

Our Divisions are:

  • East North East
  • South East
  • South
  • South West
  • West
  • North West
  • North
  • North East

East North East Division

East North East (or ENE as it’s referred to) is made up of 3 Districts: Baillieston / Garrowhill, Shettleston/ Sandyhills and Tollcross/ Bridgeton.

We have 8 Rainbow units, 10 Brownie Units, 5 Guide units and 1 Senior Section Unit so there is something for girls of all ages!

South East Division

South East Division covers the areas of Croftfoot, Kings Park, SImshill, Cathcart and Castlemilk. While not the biggest of divisions we work closely together and are all passionate about Guiding.

We actively promote and support the younger adult members of our Division to participate in everything Guiding has to offer (Peer Educators, Queen Guides, Youth Forum, International Trips, full participation in the Division team.)

South West Division

The South West Division comprises of 5 Rainbow units, 7 Brownie units, 5 Guide units and 2 Senior Section units and stretches from Pollokshields to Penilee It contains some wonderful parks which come in very useful for outdoor meetings, and is also home to the Science Centre, the Climbing Centre and the Burrell Collection.

West Division

Although we are a very small Division we have a great love for Guiding and a good support network. Our division is made up of four Rainbow Units, five Brownie Units, 4 Guide Units and a Senior Section as well as all the girls we have about fifty leaders and our Friends of West Division group. We are based in Drumchapel, Blairdardie and Knightswood area of Glasgow.

North West

North West Division is in the heart of the West End of Glasgow. It covers the areas of Blawarthill, Broomhill, Jordanhill, Partick and Scotstoun. The Division benefits from volunteers from a variety of Universities, Colleges and Hospitals which are close by. There are Rainbow, Brownie and Guide Sections in each area and we have a thriving Division Ranger Unit. The girls are offered a varied programme of activities which give them the opportunity to learn new skills, tackle challenges, make friends and have lots of fun. Girls also participate in Rainbow Sleepovers, Brownie Holidays, Guide and Senior Section Indoor Holidays and Camps.

Northern Division is fairly widespread and generally covers areas in the north of Glasgow. We have 4 districts: Kelvinside, Kelvin/Maryhill, Springburn and Botanic Gardens.

We have a  great team of guiders in the Division. Some very experienced, some less experienced and a large number of leaders in training. Due to our location we have a large number of volunteers who are students. These  volunteers are allocated a mentor for help and support.

In recent years our Division has  enjoyed various  international trips. We have visited  quite a few countries including Croatia, Venice and Austria. These trips have all been enjoyable  however  they involved a great deal of fundraising.

North East

Glasgow North East Division is made up of three Districts, covering Barmulloch, Carntyne and Dennistoun. The Division has a total of 14? units 4 Rainbows, 6 Brownies. 3 Guide Units and one Senior Section. Although we are a small Division, we try to take up as many opportunities as possible for the girls to participate in County and local activities. In 2015, a group of Guides from North East Division attended the national “G in the Park” festival camp, and were delighted to be featured as poster girls for this year’s County Camp.
