Pat Gray Salver Award

This salver was donated to the City of Glasgow Guide Association by the late W.M. Gray in memory of his wife, Pat Gray, who died in 1961, for the specific purpose of recognising and promoting service.

Mr and Mrs Gray were the parents of Mrs. Maureen Reid, former County Commissioner of the City of Glasgow, 1979-1982, Scottish Chief Commissioner 1982-1987 and previous County President.

This Salver is awarded to a Unit which has undertaken a Service Project during the year (September – August).

The award is judged by The County President, The County Commissioner, The Assistant County Commissioners and Mrs Maureen Reid, Vice President.

To assist the judges an award nomination form should be completed (see below).

It should also be noted that Units should be encouraged to participate in this Award every year as service is at the heart of the Guiding programme.   The project, no matter how small or large, will be recognised and valued by Girlguiding Glasgow.   The Pat Gray Salver is presented at the Annual Review in November each year.

Units presenting an application for consideration should have their forms duly signed by their Division Commissioner and sent to the County Commissioner no later than the 31st of October each year.
