Commissioner’s Corner – Jan 2017
The County is really back up and running after the Christmas and New Year break with the diary starting to fill up with lots of exciting activities.
Our County Team has just returned from our 2017 Planning weekend where, as described by one Commissioner, ‘we worked hard and played hard!!’ Those who attended the weekend are all volunteers just like you and me; they are busy running units but also have taken on the extra challenge of giving something back to all members of Girlguiding Glasgow. Without these women, #TeamGlasgow would be at a loss and the County would grind to a halt as much of the work they do is behind the scenes supporting and leading county projects and providing daily management oversight. I therefore wanted to take a moment to thank the County Team for all that they continue to deliver.
We have identified a few roles where we are looking for some extra support and knowledge to join the County team. Information regarding the roles will be posted on our website shortly so why not have a look and add a new challenge to your 2017!!
Membership Systems Upgrade
Our last Girlguiding newsletter announced that Go! and Join Us will be merging this summer, therefore to ensure that Glasgow is ready we are encouraged to undertake a spring clean of all the data we hold on the system. We know there can be a lot to consider when tidying up data on Go!, such as making sure your unit’s email address is up to date along with meeting place, and making sure all volunteers and girls’ contact details are accurate. So please make use of the Data Cleanse Checklist to make sure you don’t miss any important bits when giving your data a New Year clean!
2017 Subscriptions
If you haven’t noticed already our subscriptions dates for 2017 have changed. Key dates to be aware of are:

Trial Invoice are available for each unit to view – Friday 24th January 2017

No more changes can be made to your unit invoice – 12 noon Tuesday 7th March 2017

Invoice available for payment – Thursday 9th March 2017

Invoice must read ‘paid’ on the system by – Thursday 13th April 2017
