South West Division Update – April

Hi All

Since the last edition of the newsletter we have some great news. We now have TWO new units registered on Go…. The 292nd Senior Section and the 292nd Rainbow Unit, both in Pollok. Congratulations to Rene and her team and Doreen and her team in bringing all this together. We wish you every success, wonderful adventures and look forward to celebrating with some birthday cake in a years time.

The Division meeting this month will take place in Pollokshields Church at 7:30. Hope as many as possible can come along. The focus of this meeting is ‘’Sharing Our Successes’. Bring along your programme ideas for a themed evening and share it with others.

One last thing….. Accounts are now due. Following the success of submitting all our census payments on time, we are hoping for a repeat with accounts. If you are super-organised you can hand your accounts in at the meeting or contact Lynn or I to arrange for collection.

Happy Guiding!
Karen

Thank you to everyone for paying your Membership Subscriptions so promptly. Now we need to have everyone’s audited accounts in to HQ by the end of May. If you have any problems please contact your District Commissioner, or Division Treasurer Linda Boyle or myself.
I hope that all the Rainbows and Brownies who are attending Rah Rah Rio have a brilliant time. Good luck to the Units who are about to go on a Sleepover, Pack Holiday and Indoor Holiday.
Our final Division Meeting of the session will be on Monday, 13th June at 7.30pm in Partick Trinity Church, Lawrence St. We will be combining the meeting with a social presenting Long Service Awards on that evening. Please put the date in your diary now and make an effort to be present.

South Division Update – April

Firstly I hope those of you that attended our trip to the Zoo enjoyed yourselves – it was great to see so many of you!  The deadline for booking places on next years trip to Dalguise is past and those of you who booked places should be collecting in deposits – let me know if there are any issues.  I have notified Dalguise that we don’t need all the places ( 130 of us going) so it will now only be possible to add to the numbers if they have not booked them out to someone else – there are a few units that originally expressed an interest who did not book.

Over the summer I will attempt to get grant requests done to bring down the cost – in the meantime congratulations to all those units that are off on camps and holidays partly funded by Sports Relief – I was delighted to learn that all our applications were successful!
County Camp will be mentioned elsewhere in this letter – they are desperately looking for extra guiders – with or without camp experience and for all or part of the weekend – if you are free it would be great to see you.
Finally please remember that all unit accounts should be closed off and with your District commissioners, if not already certainly in the next two weeks – lets make the accounts process as painless as the subscriptions were!

Northern Division Update

I hope you all enjoyed your break from guiding and are feeling refreshed for the weeks ahead.

Accounts
Please get your accounts to your District commissioner by 18 May.  I would appreciate if everyone could adhere to this date as I do not want the District commissioners or myself to have to chase these up.  I would like to thank everyone who has already submitted their accounts it is very much appreciated.  If anyone is needing help please contact me.

Housekeeping
Housekeeping with regard to join us and GO is very important. Join Us must be checked on a regular basis and the appropriate action taken.  Any actions should be recorded in the comments field.

Units with girls on waiting  to join lists should also be checked to ensure the information is still relevant.

Personal Details on GO
Could all guiders and unit helpers please check their personal details on GO.  It is vital that this Information is correct.

Rah Rah Rio
I am sure everyone will have a great time and I have ordered some sunshine but just in case it does not arrive in time please remember your waterproofs.

Rockin Rio
Places are still available for guiders wishing to help.  The cost for guiders is fifty pounds but I can assure everyone that they will have a fabulous weekend and certainly make some new friends.  If you would like any additional information please
give me a call on 07989 171383.

Senior Section Centenary
I would like to arrange a Division event for the senior section but need some help. Anyone interested in being involved please contact me.  I know there are some super County events planned but think it would be nice to do something in the Division as well.

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.

South East Update – April

Another busy month with the 295th Brownies enjoying a weekend away at Netherurd, members of the Senior Section from across Glasgow meeting up for Crazy Golf and Dinner to kick-off their year of celebrations, BP Guides preparing and serving a 3 course dinner and numerous planning meetings for Rah Rah Rio and Rocking Rio.

Before we break for the Summer, my focus is to find out what we need to do to help those working on their Adult Leadership complete it.  It can be completed in 6 months but we have several volunteers who have been working on it a lot longer. Please encourage and offer what help you can, most of it is completed in the unit.

Thanks to those who have submitted their accounts and come on the rest of you. If you need some help, please let us know asap as we are more than happy to help support you.

For all going to Rah Rah Rio, have a great day and remember and post your picture on our Facebook page. Anyone not going with girls, Aimee would love to hear from you if you could help.

Have fun.

West Division Update – March

Spring is finally here and the crocus and daffodils are in bloom. Thanks to each and every one of you for getting the Census Monies in on time I can confirm that the payment has been received and cheque cashed. Well done! A little gentle reminder that the accounts will soon be due for annual audit. If I could have these to me by the end of April this would be great will give Emma and myself time to sign them off. My aim this year is to have them all completed by the end of May!!! If you are having difficulties with them then please give me a shout .

Calling all Rainbow & Brownie Leaders the Rah Rah Rio fun day on Saturday 30th April Please ensure you register your interest and units as this is a first come first served basis . I am also looking for someone to take on the organisation of a bus for the units attending the day. Please can you advise me by the 31st March who is going and how many from each unit. IF you feel you would like to help out at the event then please register.

Calling all Guide & Senior Section Leaders a wee reminder that all numbers should be registered for the County Camp Rockin Rio. If you are not taking any girls and would like to help out at the camp again please register. Dates are the 27th – 30th May 2016.

No Division meeting this month. I wish you all and your families a Happy Easter when it comes.

North West Division Update – March

We are delighted that Rebecca Stevenson has agreed to take on the role of Joint District Commissioner with Gail Albutt.

The Units have all been involved with Thinking Day Celebrations and Mother’s Day Activities and will soon be busy with all kinds of Easter Activities. One Brownie Unit is helping to raise funds for Sport Relief and a Guide Unit is holding a Baking Bonanza. The Brownies, Guides and Rangers in one church are holding a Coffee Afternoon in aid of Unit Funds.

Good Luck to 48th Guides who are spending the weekend at Napier House, Gartocharn.
