Wednesday 22nd of November saw Girlguiding Glasgow members & supporters from across the County (& a few from further afield) came together at Glasgow City Chambers to reflect on the past 12 months and reward those young members who have achieved awards within our programme.
The evening saw host Laura Boyd take attendees through the year ably assisted by members who spoke about their experiences with Girlguiding Glasgow during 2017. Speakers included Rainbows telling how they had celebrated the Section’s 30th birthday, Brownies explaining their experiences down on the farm & Guides fed back about their time as they camped at a safari park! We also heard from Senior Section Members about their Global Guiding experiences at International Camps & visits to world centres.
The evening saw young members recognised for their achievements across the Guiding programme including the Baden-Powell Challenge Award, Camp Permits, Duke of Edinburgh Award and the Queen’s Guide Award. You can see a full list of award winners below.
The county team wish to thank Baillie Phillip Braat for welcoming them to the City Chambers, Maureen Reid, County President, for her kind introduction and the many speakers for giving up their time to help tell the story of 2017.
With such an active year completed, just imagine what could be in store for 2018 – watch this space!
If you didn’t mange to join us, Saturday 2nd December sees the official launch of our Annual Report which has been made interactive for the first time! Find out what has been going on across the county here!
