May Division Updates

North Division

As the summer holidays are approaching I would like to wish everyone well for
their camps and pack holidays.  I hope you all have lots of fun  and  enjoy some
good weather.

Thank you to everyone who submitted their accounts so timeously.  It is a pity
we still have a few  to come in.  If you have not given your accounts to your
District Commissioner  could you please do so as a matter of urgency.

I would like to thank everyone for  all they do in Guiding.  It is smashing to be
involved with such a great bunch of ladies.

Have a great summer holiday.

Our last Division Meeting for this session will take place on Thursday 2nd June, in St. Paul’s Church Hall, Shettleston Road at 7.30 pm.  There will be a short business meeting and then we can look forward to hearing from our girls who recently gained their Queen’s Guide Award.  Guiders Long Service Awards will be presented.  Our County Commissioner, Jill Elborn is coming along to meet E.N.E Guiders.  Our Trefoil members are also invited.   Tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes will be served.  Bring along your Young Leaders and Unit Helpers.

Hopefully most units will have passed Unit  Accounts to their District Commissioner. If you haven’t done this yet, this is a reminder for you.  If you need some help to prepare your Accounts, please let your District Commissioner know or contact Senga.

Congratulations to Rebecca Prasher, Toni Valbonesi, Jessica Hutt, and Rachael Sutherland on gaining their, Adult Leadership.   Well Done Ladies.

Let’s make our end of session Division Meeting a really special night for E.N.E. Guiders.

I have been asked by Senga to pass on this information as at time of writing, Senga is in New York.

I’m sure I speak for all Guiders in E.N.E Division when I say,  Senga,  a very big Thank You 😀💐, for all the work you do  for the Guiders and Girls.  You are very much appreciated.

Normal start to my Newsletter – Another busy month for South East Division with the many of the Rainbows and Brownies enjoying a fantastic afternoon at Rah Rah Rio, many thanks to Aimee Scott for doing a fantastic job in leading the team.

I have also been privileged to attend 271st BP Presentation and fun night and Croftfoot Seniors Queens Guide Celebrations.  Congratulations to all the girls. We are all so proud of you.

Congratulations to Nicola and Brady on the safe arrival of their son Nathan Joseph, an early arrival but mum and baby doing well.

For all going to Rocking Rio, Unit Camp, Sleepovers, Cruise down the Clyde and summer days out, have a great time and remember and post your pictures on our Facebook page.

Finally I hope to see many of you at our end of term dinner at Buorgiono’s on Tuesday 14th June, if you haven’t confirmed your attendance, please do so by return as places are limited.  If you are not attending have a great summer break.

Cheers

South Division

As I write this I am conscious that many of our units are now closing fir summer – I hope you have a great break. If you are continuing to the middle of June could you let me know as I have still got quite a few units to visit.
I was delighted that our zoo trip was so well supported and it was also good to see some of you at the rainbow and brownie fun day.
The deadline for booking our Dalguise trip has now passed and I am pleased that 172 of us are going. The deposits MUST be with Shona in the next week – if they are not I will need to cancel your units places as the division does not have the cash to fund them in advance.
Please as you finish for summer do a wee but of housekeeping – ensure your accounts have been submitted, you have no join us enquiries lurking etc.
We will have a division meeting/ social at the start of next term at which outstanding awards will be presented. The date will follow as soon as jacqui has confirmation from the venue.
Have a great summer and thank you for your support so far

South West Division

This month has seen a number of successful fundraising events with the 192nd Brownies and the Ibrox Brownies and Guides being involved with their local communities through coffee mornings and church fates.

The 259th Guides arranged a bake sale on the 21st May at Pollokshields Playhouse to raise funds for their trip to Switzerland.  And the 292nd Guides and Senior Section have arranged a Mad Hatters Tea Party on Thursday 26 May in aid of Erskine Hospital.  Please do your best to support these ventures (further info available on Facebook).

June’s Division Meeting will be a social event.  Keep an eye on your emails for further information.

There will be a fundraising Quiz night on Friday 17th June in Yoker Bowling Club in aid of the trip to Cologne.  Tickets are  £5 we hope to see you there.

Thanks to everyone for getting your Unit Accounts to us. We are hoping to have an end of year social night sometime in June.  More details will follow once finalised.

My thanks to each and everyone of you for all the time and  energy you give to your units the support to the Division and the County without your commitment we would not be able to provide great opportunities for our girls.

I hope that you all have a great summer whatever you are doing and that you  mange to recharge your batteries.

I hope that the Brownies who were on Pack Holiday recently had a brilliant time. Good Luck to all who are holding Parties, attending Pack Holidays, Sleepovers or Days Out in the next few weeks.

The Rainbows and Brownies who attended Rah Rah Rio all enjoyed their day with the Petting Zoo being their favourite activity. I hope that all who are camping at Rockin Rio have a great time.

A reminder that all audited accounts should be in Glasgow HQ by the end of May.

Our final Division Meeting of the Session will be on Monday, 13th June at 7.30pm in Partick Trinity Church, Lawrence St. We will be combining the meeting with a social, presenting Long Service Awards on that evening. I am delighted that Jill Elborn, our County Commissioner will be joining us then and I hope that you will all make an effort to be at the meeting to meet and welcome Jill.
