West Division Update – March

Spring is finally here and the crocus and daffodils are in bloom. Thanks to each and every one of you for getting the Census Monies in on time I can confirm that the payment has been received and cheque cashed. Well done! A little gentle reminder that the accounts will soon be due for annual audit. If I could have these to me by the end of April this would be great will give Emma and myself time to sign them off. My aim this year is to have them all completed by the end of May!!! If you are having difficulties with them then please give me a shout .

Calling all Rainbow & Brownie Leaders the Rah Rah Rio fun day on Saturday 30th April Please ensure you register your interest and units as this is a first come first served basis . I am also looking for someone to take on the organisation of a bus for the units attending the day. Please can you advise me by the 31st March who is going and how many from each unit. IF you feel you would like to help out at the event then please register.

Calling all Guide & Senior Section Leaders a wee reminder that all numbers should be registered for the County Camp Rockin Rio. If you are not taking any girls and would like to help out at the camp again please register. Dates are the 27th – 30th May 2016.

No Division meeting this month. I wish you all and your families a Happy Easter when it comes.

North West Division Update – March

We are delighted that Rebecca Stevenson has agreed to take on the role of Joint District Commissioner with Gail Albutt.

The Units have all been involved with Thinking Day Celebrations and Mother’s Day Activities and will soon be busy with all kinds of Easter Activities. One Brownie Unit is helping to raise funds for Sport Relief and a Guide Unit is holding a Baking Bonanza. The Brownies, Guides and Rangers in one church are holding a Coffee Afternoon in aid of Unit Funds.

Good Luck to 48th Guides who are spending the weekend at Napier House, Gartocharn.

North East Division Update – March

We had a lovely meal on 19th February at the Italian Kitchen – thanks to everyone who made it through the horrible weather. Irene really appreciated seeing you all and she loved her gifts.

I have emailed about this already but just to remind you that the next Division Meeting is on Wednesday 16th March at Carntyne Church hall at 7.30pm. Please let me know if you are coming or not – email northeast@girlguidingglasgow.org.uk

Jill Elborn (County Commissioner) and Evelyn McWhinnie (Assistant County Commissioner) are coming to the meeting, so it would be nice to have a good turn out!

Subscriptions payments have been going well – many thanks for your efforts in getting them in on time. If anyone is having difficulties please let me know.

Elaine and Irene are doing a fantastic job on the PVG checks, which have to be completed this month. If yours is still outstanding please bring your ID to the Division Meeting and we can fill in the forms then.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 16th.

South West Division Update – March

Hi all, Lynn and I are very happy to see how much the Facebook page is being used. It’s great to be kept up to date, especially with all the pictures from the Thinking Day event at the Bridge. Keep it coming!
This month we have a real push on to complete PVGs. All checks need to be completed by the end of March. Lynn and I will be in contact with anyone who has yet to have their application processed.

We would like to say a big thank you to all units who have processed their census payments; there are just a few units outstanding, so hopefully we can make that final push to reach our target of 100% payment by the deadline of Wednesday 16 March (Latest date for cheques to arrive at Trading Services).

This month’s division meeting will be on Friday 18 March 2016 at 7:30pm. See you all there!

South Division Update – March

It was great to see so many of you at the Bowling last month – I hope you enjoyed yourselves, met some new faces and are full of ideas for our next event – on the subject of which I am looking for ideas!

Over 300 individuals have signed up for our trip to the Zoo on 23rd April- I have booked 5 coaches and transport pick up points etc will be issued nearer the time. If you have not confirmed your final numbers to Shona please do so as soon as possible – this is particularly important for the panda viewings as I would hate anyone to miss out.

I am sure there will be other reminders about subscriptions and pvgs so I will not mention it other than to say thank you to those that have efficiently dealt with both.

North Division Update – March

North Division

The Division meeting will take place on 31 March at 7.30 pm in Guide Headquarters. (uniform to be worn)
Our new County Commissioner Jill Elborn and her assistant Evelyn McWhinnie will be coming along to the meeting.  It would be good if we could have a good turn out as Jill and Evelyn would like to meet  everyone.

Repair Day

I believe it is fair to say that our Division needs to arrange a day when we can go down to the campsite to help with the jobs that need to be done before the camping season begins.
I cannot go on a Saturday as I work all day but am happy to go down midweek or on a Sunday.  Please let me know if you are able to assist and your preference for midweek or a Sunday.
The campsite needs your help to ensure it is up to its usual high standard.  It is our campsite and we need to take care of it.

Looking forward to seeing  everyone at our Division meeting.
