October Division Update
Hope to see lots of you at the pot luck supper on 19th October. This will be
an informal evening with some nice things to eat. The meeting will be in
guide headquarters at 7.30 pm.
Please come along and bring a dish. Do not worry if you cannot cook. You
could bring crusty bread, crisps, juice or anything you fancy. Please try and
come along and make some new friends.
If you do not have a guiding PVG please bring you Identification and we can do it during the evening. If you already have a PVG you will need to bring a note of
your previous no. If unsure speak to your District Commissioner.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.

I don’t have much to say this month beyond what will be included in the main newsletter – so not going to waffle!
I have been to visit a few units recently and it has been great to meet so many of you. I particularly want to welcome all our ‘new recruits’ – Growing Guiding in South will be so much easier now that our Adult Volunteer numbers are growing – thank you to the Commissioners who are so ably supporting them , sorting out PVGs etc!
A big well done to Eilidh McNeil in gaining her Going Away with licence – just waiting on Tori Norton to have her book signed off as well and I know a few others are working towards theirs. I’m loving the enthusiasm. I am off to Pack Holiday this month with the Units at Mount Florida and Queens Park – hoping that more licences will then follow!
Our Dalguise weekend in March is full – 176 people currently going and I have just been asked to try and get more spaces for one unit – that is now dependant on PGL having space. One unit has still to pay the deposit ( required immediately, as was due in April) and everyone must note that the full balance must be in the Division account by Christmas – we do not have the funds to pay ‘upfront’ and recoup later so please be talking to your parents now.
Disappointingly we are one of the few Divisions who have not completed the accounts process – still waiting for 2 sets and County are on ‘the case’ – if you have any issues with accounts going forward please speak to us – the team are happy to help and a problem shared……….

Hope everyone is now back into the swing of things this term!
Please remember here is no division meeting this month, as it has been replaced by the division safe space training on Saturday 22nd October in HQ at 10am. Please make every effort to attend as this is being put on especially for us.
The AGM is next month, so if you have any girls you think are due an award please let us know as soon as possible.

I think autumn is well and truly here with a change in the weather you can feel the slight nip in the air!
Thanks to those who attended the Division Meeting last month. I would appreciate your feed back as to what night or day suits to have our meetings going forward and what you would like at our meeting.
I hope to arrange a Craft Night at our November Meeting hopefully with some Mothers day and Easter Ideas. I will confirm this by email. It was decided that the Division Social will be held at the end of January all suggestions welcome.
I can confirm that the Annual Census for 2016-2017 is £35 per person. We need to make sure this paid to the Division by the 31st January. Remember to budget for this.
A reminder to those who are completing their ALQ to sign up for a First Response and Safe Space training this is required to be completed as part of your module books. If you have a First Response Certificate which is nearing renewal or is out of date then please ensure you sign up to one of the Refresher courses or a First Response Course. You can sign up via the Girlguiding Glasgow website.
I sent out a form asking each of you to complete what Guiding Qualifications you have ie pack holiday Licence, Campers Licence etc. Can you please get these returned to me asap if you haven’t done so. Have a happy October!
